An 8-day movement for global harmony
and healing begins August 8, 2008

OTTAWA, Ontario — February 12th, 2008— The global event began simply as vision, a small part of a book—but true to the “butterfly effect” where one small change can trigger large-scale phenomena, the event has taken-on a life of its own, and the world is moving to make it happen.

August eighth, 2008 marks the beginning of the fulfillment of author Jacques Bourdeau’s vision that world records toward global harmonious healing can be achieved in eight days. Bourdeau wrote a book, “Listen to the Songs of the Angels,” containing the vision, but it was written as if the eight days had already passed, with specific events that happened such as government buildings flying peace flags for the eight days.

A blog website has been established (www.Aug08.org) detailing his vision, with numerous, often simple suggestions of how everyone— individuals and organizations—can participate in the changes that will occur. From simply signing a world peace petition, downloading a free “Ticket to Change” with powerful poetry, linking to the website, or spending 80 seconds in silence at 8pm, there are many ways to participate, and you can also announce to the world what you pledge to do. The world can track and share all the actions taken and their effects, during this eight-day movement around the world. The site is already being linked-to, and word is spreading.

“There are many wonderful, positive movements around the world for specific causes, but this is the first that I know of which combines peace, health, freedom, the earth, equality, and abundance—a coming together and multiplying of the powers for change.” Bourdeau says. He believes in “limitless hope and immeasurable positive human potential.”
